Nestled in the heart of Midtown Manhattan at 100 W 55th St, Wagamama brings an elevated Asian fusion dining experience that perfectly blends vibrant flavors with a modern, welcoming atmosphere. This restaurant, part of a globally recognized brand, has evolved far beyond its original noodle bar concept, offering an extensive menu that satisfies both adventurous palates and traditional tastes alike.
Step inside and you’ll immediately notice the bright, open layout—a refreshing contrast to the typical hustle outside. With spacious seating and an open kitchen, the ambiance here is lively yet comfortably relaxed, making it ideal for everything from quick lunches to leisurely dinners. Guests frequently comment on the attentive, friendly service that complements the cuisine, creating a dining experience that feels both polished and approachable.
Wagamama’s menu is a vibrant celebration of bold Asian flavors, skillfully combining Japanese, Korean, and Chinese influences. The Chili Hoisin Duck Bao instantly excites with its rich, smoky duck wrapped in soft bao, while the Bang Bang Cauliflower offers a perfect harmony of crispy texture and fiery, creamy sauce that has become a fan favorite. For noodle lovers, the Chicken Pad Thai delivers fragrant tamarind and lime notes, while the spicy ramen options — including the spirited Chili Chicken Ramen and hearty Chicken Gyoza Ramen — provide a soothing warmth that’s deeply satisfying.
Be sure not to miss the teppanyaki dishes, where the Chicken Yaki Soba stands out with its tender chicken and perfectly cooked soba noodles garnished with fried shallots and pickled ginger for a delightful crunch and kick. Equally impressive is the Spicy Salmon Teriyaki, where succulent salmon rests on a bed of noodles accompanied by crunchy broccolini and asparagus, all coated in a lively sweet and spicy teriyaki sauce that dances on the palate.
Curry enthusiasts will appreciate the Chicken Firecracker, a bold blend of fiery chilis and fresh vegetables served over fragrant white rice, or the richly aromatic Chicken Katsu Curry featuring crispy panko-coated chicken in a luscious sauce. Vegetarians will find delight in the Yasai Katsu Curry, which delivers all the comfort of the classic dish with expertly fried vegetables that remain crispy beneath the savory curry.
To complement this culinary journey, Wagamama offers a selection of Asian-inspired beers such as Lucky Buddha and Hitachino White, perfect for pairing with your chosen dishes and enhancing the nuanced flavors without overpowering them.
The real charm of Wagamama Midtown lies not just in its menu but in the genuine dining experience it delivers. Patrons consistently praise the warm hospitality and consistent quality. From the rich, comforting soups to the impeccably seared Tuna Tataki, every bite tells a story of passion and precision. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite before the theater, seeking a satisfying bowl of ramen to reset your day, or indulging in a full multi-course meal, Wagamama promises a deeply satisfying encounter with modern Asian fusion fare in New York City.
Surprised to find this evolved Wagamama in midtown NYC compared to the simpler noodle bar I first tried in London over a decade ago. This place has a more extensive menu and table service. We were a party of 2 and tried the pork gyoza, the tuna tataki and the bang bang cauliflower from the shareables menu. Of these 3 dishes we enjoyed the last one the best. The other 2 were good but not outstanding. We also ordered the chicken mandarin salad which we found very good. Lastly we had the grilled duck ramen. This was good but not comparable to ramen from the great ramen shops in the city. Overall, the restaurant serves good Asian fusion food, the service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is lively and festive for a Saturday evening.
Great food, convenient location and great service. We stopped in for a quick meal before attending a performance at the New York City Center. Service was friendly, polite and very attentive. My ramen bowl was filled with flavor, and the tuna was an excellent piece of fish that was seared to perfection. Extremely satisfied with our dining experience here.
Such a super cool place. We were greeted and seated immediately. Even though we had made a reservation. We went just before the dinner rush so there was plenty of seating available. Super open and spacious, very clean and everyone was friendly. There were so many cool things on the menu that I wanted to try, but I decided to do the $30 meal that included an appetizer on train dessert. I have to say my eyes were bigger than my stomach because I didn't get through everything lol Bathrooms were located downstairs, also super clean. The kitchen was an open concept where you could watch them making the food, which I thought was super cool. Definitely worth checking out their desserts which were a matcha cheesecake and a fried caramel banana with ice cream... There's no way I could pick my favorite from those two!! If you're out and about in New York City and you want to try something fun, and reasonably priced, check this place out!
Stopped by this place for a quick break and absolutely loved it. The soup was comforting, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—exactly what I needed in the middle of the day. Great vibes at the bar and a really nice spot to reset for a bit. Would definitely come back.
Just a few blocks away from Central Park, this place is a refreshing break from pizza slices and deli sandwiches….and we all loved it. Very nice staff, super clean, open kitchen was cool to see all the dishes…and the food was tasty across the board. Bravo Wagamama. Your name lured us in, and your food and hospitality delighted us.
I thought this place was really good! I’ve been wanting to try like a Asian inspired restraunt and this checked the box. We had reservations at 6 but we came early and not many people were there so we got seated right away. The servers were nice and very quick. I liked the vibe of this place. It was modern and clean. They had ramen, bowls, noodles, rice, and so many drinks to choose from. I got the spicy salmon noodle bowl snd it was delicious and not to heavy. The bang bang cauliflower was very flavorful and a little spicy to. The Tokyo fries were ingesting but crunchy and flavored nicely.
